Work Description:

We had two bathrooms remodeled, with the bathtub replaced with a low-step (walk-in) shower in one bathroom, and the old bathtub replaced with a new one in the other. Both were done to ADA specifications. Both were fully equipped with hand holds (grab bars) and adjustable shower heads. The shower has a very sturdy folding seat. All parts are US-made and of the highest quality. We are fully satisfied with the materials, manufacturing and finish of all the components. The shower pan, tub and walls are made by Best Bath (www.best-bath.com) of a very heavy grade of fiberglass-covered plywood for the shower tray and the side panels, and a heavy fiberglass tub, all with an extremely durable finish. The plumbing fittings are by Moen, but other makes could be substituted if desired.

The work was done in two sessions, with the shower first and the tub replacement second. Each took two days to complete from start to finish. In both cases the components were shipped directly from the factory and delivered one day prior to the installation date. Frank and George Maestas, the owners, did the work themselves, using the basement garage as their workshop. Since both bathrooms are on the second flow, this involved a great many trips up and down stairs, often with large and heavy components. They did all this with seeming ease and no complaints whatsoever. We would judge the amount of effort required to be above average.

Removal of the original tubs and tiling went smoothly, and the assembly and installation of the components went equally well. Both had clearly had a great deal of experience, and nothing posed a problem that they couldn’t solve. They had the tools, parts and skill to do the job right, right from the start. We were consulted at every stage where our input would help, especially the positions of the hand holds (grab bars) so that we got them exactly where we wanted them.

They cleaned as they went, and left no debris whatsoever. The garage looked better when they finished than when they started. The work on the two bathrooms was superb, fully equivalent to what you would find in the finest New York or London hotels, if not better as everything was done to ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards. As we’re an older couple, this was very important, and GFM was the only contractor we found who was capable of this caliber of work.

It would certainly be possible to have the same remodeling done for less, but this was most definitely a case of getting what you pay for. We wanted the bathrooms to last for as long as we can remain in our house, and we didn’t want to worry about them again. We could not be more pleased or satisfied, and would not hesitate to recommend GFM to anyone looking for the highest quality.

“After much research and fact finding, my husband and I decided to purchase a walk in tub and have it installed by GFM Construction. I am happy to say that it was a great decision! Frank and George from GFM were wonderful and we wholeheartedly recommend them for construction needs. The end result was a quality job that looks like the tub was installed with the original construction of the house. Additionally, their attention to detail, timeliness and lengths they went to keep the work area clean, was very appreciated. No question we will be contacting GFM for any future construction projects, and have already recommended them to family & friends.”

“GFM is a pleasure to work with. When we first met we weren’t sure how to go about our remodel. After our meeting we felt confident in what was to take place and that our needs were met. The installation had minimal impact on our busy household. We felt our home was respected. GFM did a custom job with great quality. We love the remodel we needed for our special needs bathtub. It was everything we wanted and a job well done. We look foreword to having them back as future needs arise.”

“I wanted to send you a letter thanking you for all the wonderful help you were to my mother. My mom loves her tub and we are so appreciative all the beautiful hard work. My family was very happy regarding the professionalism, quality, quick, affordable and all the time you took explaining the process.”

“Recently I had Frank and George Maestas of GFM install my walk in bathtub. I have sent some photos of the installation, and as you can see the work was perfect. I am very particular and I am very pleased with the outcome. They have a good eye for details and they had to cut a large hole in the bedroom wall and carry the tub through. I was amazed at the finish on the wall, it matched my old paint and you could not tell there had been any cuts in the wall. They are careful and the tub looks like it came with the house.

“We had GFM install a walk in bath for my mother this month. I just want to let anyone who may be looking for a contractor for this kind of job to defiantly contact them. GFM arrived as promised. They had all the equipment; parts needed to complete the job, GFM conducted themselves in a business, but personal, manner. GFM had the work done as promised and not a speck of dirt or dust was left behind when they completed the project. If I ever have the need to find a contractor again, or any friends ask whom to hire, I will tell them not to look any further than GFM. To that end, I will their card in my file and hope I will have the chance to refer them to anyone needing a qualified contractor. Thank you so much for the GREAT JOB!”

“You did a fantastic job remodeling my parent’s bathroom! Everything turned out better than I imagined. Thanks for all your efforts!”

“Just wanted you guys to know that we received another big compliment on your work and your work style! The George A. ramp in Woodland. This is the second call of appreciation on one of your ramps in two weeks. That’s rare from our clients. Thanks GFM! It’s been a pleasure working with you.”
